Armath's First Global Armenia team returned from the international robotics championship
The team of the "Armath Engineering Laboratories", which recently participated in the First Global International Robotics Championship in Mexico City became finalists and took 48th place out of 180. In the final stage of the championship, as a result of a lottery, Armenian national team performed jointly with Jamaica and Mauritius national teams. The team completed its participation in First Global at this stage of the championship.
The founder of the "Armath Engineering Laboratories" educational network, the Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UITE), Mr.Karen Vardanyan mentioned: "The engineering component of the Armenian team was quite strong. Our team was also distinguished by its negotiation skills. The complexity of the championship was that the groupmates of each country were assigned through a lottery. Most of the time after completing its task for the match Armenian team also committed to completing the tasks of the groupmates. In other words, the success depends not only on the high score of just one country but the cumulative score of the groupmate countries.
Mr.Vardanyan emphasized that participation in First Global was a valuable experience for the students of Armath. They had dozens of matches, while teamed up with participants from more than 40 countries. This also requires multicultural communication skill. Children's priceless experience will be incorporated into other robotics competitions organized by UATE in Armenia.
Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises plans to turn Armenia into a robotics tournament center where the focus will be on autonomously managed robots. Union will make a separate statement on the details in the future.
We would like to note that Armenia's participation in the First Global Robotics Championship became possible thanks to the support of the official partners of the First Global Armenia team Ucom and Ameriabank.
