The 9th Armath laboratory of Artsakh operates in Norshen
On January 19, the official opening ceremony of "Armath" engineering laboratory took place at the school named after Leonid Hurunts in Norshen community of Artsakh. The Minister of Education, Science and Sports of Artsakh, Narine Aghabalyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, the Executive Director of the UITE, Karen Vardanyan, representatives of UITE member companies, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and others participated in the event.
Since 2014 the educational network of "Armath" engineering laboratories of the UITE has been established and is expanding its borders day by day and has the aim to provide conditions for free engineering education for each schoolchild. Schoolchildren study basics of robotics and programming at "Armath", participate in a number of encouraging competitions, camps and other events, meet representatives of the IT sector, etc.
The development of engineering mindset and the acquirement of skills starting from the age of 10 create great prospects for a schoolchild, their community, as well as for the economy of the country, including the development of the military industry and the emigration reduction. Today, there is a great demand for specialists of the technological sector in the whole world, which our specialists can satisfy without leaving the country and even at home-online.
Now 54 schoolchildren attend the school named after Leonid Hurunts. They made a video clip on their own about the community and the everyday life of the school, by the way, they used the drone (unmanned flying vehicle) designed by the pupils of Armath lab of Sisian in the clip. The coach of the newly opened "Armath" in Norashen is Ara Harutyunyan, participant of "Teach, Armenia" program, who has been sent to Artsakh from Yerevan as a teacher of physics.
The UITE donated some laboratory equipment to the school of Norashen in December, while donations, made by Nazarian Educational Foundation, Instigate, PicsArt, Ucom, X-Tech, Essential Solutions, LimeTech, E-Works, FimeTech companies and individuals during the New Year charity evening of the UITE, made "Armath" laboratory complete.
"Armath" engineering laboratory of Norashen is the 9th one in Artsakh. Engineering laboratories also operate in Stepanakert, Shushi, Vank, Karvachar, Berdzor, Vurgavan, where more than 150 schoolchildren study, and "Armath" network overall has more than 220 laboratories, which unites around 5,000 schoolchildren. The UITE plans to create "Armath" in all schools of Armenia. The schoolchildren of those schools where there is no laboratory yet, but who want to study at "Armath" can attend free the "Armath" laboratory of the adjacent area. It is necessary to search for the school on armath.am website and contact the coach or organizers.
It should be added that on the same day a memorandum on cooperation was concluded between the UITE and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh.
