26-05-2020
As a result of the proposal received by the Russian partners of the “Instigate” company more than 100 coaches and students of Armath took part in a webinar organized by the "Transparent World" non-profit organization and "LoReTT" company on May 19.
During the webinar, representatives of the Armath community learned how to read various types of areas from maps with a digital zoom of up to 5 meters:
- forests,
- farmlands,
- cadastral zones,
- water areas,
- fire zones.
It's notable that the digital zoom radius of the maps of popular Google and Yandex systems are of up to 70 meters.
“The successful implementation of this project will be of great practical importance. Our colleagues in St. Petersburg are already implementing a similar project with schoolchildren. It is aimed at providing students of Armath with photographs of the territory of Armenia, where students will mark areas planted with trees and changes in that areas manually, and this can become a serious basis for decision-making on the control in the field of forestry since the full picture of the forests of Armenia is not yet clear. In the future, the manual image collection will be replaced by artificial intelligence solutions. This may be another successful and important project of Armath Engineering Laboratories, which, moreover, can be implemented for other countries," - noted the organizers of the webinar.
Further inclusion of this educational project in the program of Armath Engineering Laboratories is in discussion.
