DigiCamp Innovative Camp 2015
The third DigiCamp Innovative camp has been organized from 6th to 16th of July, 2015 in Dilijan sanatorium «Mountainous Armenia».
The aim of the 10-day DigiCamp Summer Camp was to support the young people aged 14-22 who had innovative ideas make their first steps in the field of entrepreneurship by providing them relevant knowledge, assisting in registering own business and participating at different important events. Only 44 out of 120 applications have been selected to participate at the Camp due to the presented ideas and their compliance to the given standards.
The core content of the DigiCamp formed the training on innovative entrepreneurship, the presentations of the success stories of Armenian technological companies, the practical work with mentors, as well as cultural and sport programs and events.
At the very first day of the Camp the participants got familiarized with the secrets of the effective presentations. By implementing the gained knowledge the participants introduced their own business ideas to each other. As a result, only 9 out of presented 44 ideas have been chosen to be continued, and the teams have been formed within the frames of the latter which would then work on the ideas’ development during the 10-day Camp. The teams participated at the trainings on the innovative entrepreneurship in order to develop the chosen 9 ideas and represent them to the professional jury by the end of the Camp.
Besides the trainings, the success stories by the Armenian technological companies have also formed the core content of the Camp. The leading Armenian startups’ founders shared their own experience with the participants by representing the main challenges they’d faced and how they solved the raised problems.
The “DigiCamp 2015” was marked by rich cultural and sport events.
The logical end of the DigiCamp was accompanied by representing the business ideas to the jury and thereafter the Solemn delivery of the awards.
As of jury decision, the LinguaCode project was awarded the first place. The idea of the team represented a programming platform which would help the children aged 7-15 to study the basics of the programming. With the help of the platform and without knowledge of the English the children would be able to write codes in native language.
The second place was awarded to 4 teams at once: G-Pulse, Tech Bag, ARTA and Applicant. The first place winner team received money award of 200,000 AMD, while the 4 teams that won the 2nd place received money award of 100,000 AMD each. The latter were intended to be used exclusively in the development of ideas.
