Armath tech community produces protective equipment for medical institutions
The technical community of Armath Engineering Laboratories provided medical equipment of its own production to the medical centers of Shirak and Armavir regions.
Today, at 10:00 am, at Shirak Municipality the representatives of Armath Engineering Laboratories handed over protective face shields made by 3D printers in order to support the medical facilities of the region. Earlier such shields have been also provided to Metsamor Medical Center by the Armath community of Armavir.
“Emphasizing the health safety of our students a decision of not involving the children in the production process have been made. The printers have been distributed among the coaches and we have started manufacturing face protection shields in accordance with all sanitary rules," Sofia Harutyunyan, the regional coordinator of Armath Engineering Laboratories of Shirak, noted.
As a result of the cooperation with the Shirak Municipality Administration, it became clear that the number of such protective equipment the medical infrastructures of the province need is currently 150, so the production is still in process. Disinfection of equipment is carried out by medical institutions.
“If needed, Armath Tech Community members can produce up to 1,500 shields a day not leaving their houses. Similar shields have also begun to be manufactured in many countries around the world with 3D printers, as this does not require the production line and the presence of employees in the workplace. A Facebook group named "Covid19 open-source medical supplies" has been created, involving around 60,000 engineers and doctors from around the world, where they share different solutions, ” - Avag Sayan, the Armath Methodology Responsible, noted.
Responding to the Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan's challenge, a number of Armath specialists are currently working on the preparation of prototypes of the artificial ventilation device.
